I gotta say, your song is packaged very well. Delivers on what you want the song to be and a bit more too. You definitely follow your drum breaks with a well orchestrated accompaniment each time. While I'm not totally into upbeat and chiptune, you garnered my full listen and review.

Your music theory is spot on. I'd say, you could probably even kicked those octaves higher and lower based on your skill. You have such a solid foundation in your musical scores that even a little of change in auditory anticipation would be dramatic and honestly, if executed with care, would shine instantly. I love that you compiled a lot of ideas into one track, but don't let that be something to hinder you later as a requirement. I've heard a lot of chiptune artists before and they go spastic on scores and variations because of their perceived lack of resources i.e. effects, gating, synths. There's a lot of precise tuning that can be done with those dials in Caustic I'm sure.

I gave you 4.5 stars for writing this on your phone. That's a lot of tapping. Keep em coming. I enjoy your style :)

I hope my review was helpful :) Thanks for helping me with my first review!

Woah, I think this is the first time I'm getting feedback this long! Thanks for your review and kind words, I really appreciate it.
I didn't even know I had a style myself, I try not to think about that too much, but this track encapsulates almost every element I want in my songs - picking a little bit from my favorite stuff and trying to come up with catchy melodies - so that's a compliment for me.
I'm really suprised about what you said regarding my music theory, I've always been insecure about my whole musical knowledge in general. I've never been properly taught (we have no musical classes where I live, so most of it comes from listening or analyzing other tracks for reference and also from some helpful youtube videos) and I don't even know how to play an actual instrument (I never really got the chance to do it).
Also, sorry if my reviews aren't very detailed, writing isn't really my forte (especially in english) I'm really new to this and I have difficulty explaining some stuff.

Great use of the amen break loop in all those cuts. You got an ear for DNB breaks thats for sure :) My recommendation is, if you can cut this up this great, you should push the track more by adding personalized drum combos, maybe individual effects and some one shots to spice it up as well. This song brings me back to the late 90s and gives me those good vibes like Square Pusher's work back then. Love the style you bring. Keep up the good work :)

thanks for writing extensive feedback :)

i agree, i love the amen break a little too much haha

Reminds me of At Dawn We Rage who did some genre bending stuff during the DeadMau5 hayday. Really lovely tune you got here. Hope to see you engage further with this sound and finish this piece sometime :) You have a knack for chill vibe sounds.

I dabble in music in my free time. I mostly write and proofread my pet projects.
